Several workplaces use personality exams such as the enneagram (along with others such as Clifton strengths or the Big Five, to name a few) because it’s an excellent way to determine which environments you best fit into. Understanding how your Enneagram type fits into your career choices can lead to a more fulfilling work experience.

Keep in mind that any type can be successful in any career path! However, guides such as these can help you view your career path more objectively and determine what might be the most fulfilling for you in the long run.

Type 1: Often most successful in detail-oriented or leadership roles. One’s also need careers that have a clear and consistent goal. Their gut-driven sense of morality and justice has many craving jobs that directly serve others. One’s are often successful as: doctors, law enforcement, architects, or in corporate management roles.

Type 2: Often most successful in people-oriented interpersonal roles. Two’s excel at reading the room and have spent their lives mastering the art of making others feel loved, appreciated, and safe. The most important thing for a Two is not necessarily the job itself, but feeling appreciated and welcomed in the workplace. Two’s are often successful as: teachers, nurses, or in HR roles.
